Boston's Berklee College hails Gloria Estefan with honorary degree - May 15, 2007
Latin Pop songstress Gloria Estefan and U2 guitarist The Edge were awarded with the honorary Doctor of Music degrees at Boston's Berklee College of Music over the weekend, together with late Jazz pianist Andrew Hill, who was represented by his wife Joanne Robinson Hill. Estefan also shared an emotive speech to the graduating class, "Music is a healing force and we have the privilege of sharing it." "It's an awesome responsibility. It has to be something that says something from you. Whether you end up doing it for a business or just end up singing for your kids, teaching other people to do music, or doing therapy, go forward with a lot of belief, because its such an amazing way to live your life."
